Dr. Christy Fortney

B.S., D.D.S., M.S.D.

Dr. Fortney’s passion for dentistry started at a young age, when she began working for her dad’s oral surgery practice at just 12 years old. Her impressive career journey began at Loyola Marymount University in 1994, where she was a point guard on the Division 1 Women’s basketball team and a member of the Delta Gamma sorority.  After completing her work at LMU, Dr. Fortney pursued her passion for dentistry and graduated from Northwestern University Dental School in 1998. She then completed a GPR residency at Ravenswood Hospital in 1999 and orthodontic residency at Children’s National Medical Center in 2001. After finishing her training, Dr. Fortney and her husband moved back to Southern California and bought a practice with two locations in San Diego and also a pediatric dental office. Dr. Fortney has always had a passion for teaching and fortunate to work as a key opinion leader for many years helping others to strive to be the best Orthodontist they can be.
